Here at Just Killin' Time we love a true crime podcast, so we decided to share some of our favourites with you. We should probably mention that between the team we listen to way more than whats made the list but these are our best picks. Hosted by two of the greatest crime experts in the world, retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent/Profiler Jim Clemente & former federal prosecutor Francey Hakes, the podcasts invites criminal experts to discuss the cases that stuck with them for better or worse. With over 76 episodes and counting you will be spoilt for choice, we would recommend episodes 74 and 75 which are titled The Bloody Third. This one is a must for anyone who wants a look behind the scenes of police work.

Martinis and Murder

If you like your podcasts a little more light hearted, well as light as true crime can be, Martinis and Murder serves up exactly what it says on the tin. Hosts Daryn Carp and John Thrasher have a drink, get a little drunk and talk about murder. In a world of hard hitting podcasts, the relaxed Martini and Murder gives a nice change of pace. The podcast is closing in on 100 episodes so you got plenty of choice with this one.

True Crime All The Time

Hosts Mike Ferguson and Mike Gibson guide you through the most interesting true crime stories. This is a true crime podcast that spares none of the details and delves into what makes these killers tick. The guys try to keep things upbeat without undermining the crimes they discussed, with 95 episodes to choose from this one could be your new obsession.

My Favourite Murder

Lifelong fans of true crime stories Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark tell each other their favourite tales of murder and hear hometown crime stories from fans.The pair have built a whole community of fans world wide and it's no surprise when you listen to the quality of their work, the stories they tell are not always as in depth as other podcasts, but for a lot of fans that's a good thing. With 207 episodes to choose from this podcast has embedded itself as one of the number one true crime podcasts out there.

U.K. True Crime

The weekly UK True Crime Podcast is the home of UK true crime. Hosted by the funny and engaging Adam, this podcast examines lesser known UK cases in depth, talks to true crime authors, reviews products/shows and interviews other experts in the field of UK True Crime. With 87 episodes ready for you this one is definitely worth a binge.


Serial is the top dog when it comes to true crime podcasts, it is the reason a lot of people started consuming or even making true crime content. Hosted by Sarah Koenig the podcast unfolds one story - a true story - over the course of a whole season. The show follows the plot and characters wherever they lead, through many surprising twists and turns and the host doesn't know how the story will end until she gets there, not long before you get there with her.

All Killa No Filla

Hosted by comedians Rachel Fairburn and Kiri Pritchard - McLean this podcast explores their shared passion about serial killers an all things true time. In each episode the pair talk all things murder and macabre, and have a right laugh doing it. Fairburn and Pritchard are unapologetic about turning what is a dark and sometime upsetting subject into a light-hearted podcast that is also informative and entertaining. With 55 episodes under their belt, All Killa No Filla keeps going from strength to strength and is fast becoming one of the best true crime podcasts.

Sword and Scale

Hosted by the often controversial Mike Boudet, Sword and Scale has established itself as one of the best true-crime podcasts out there. The podcast covers the underworld of criminal activity and the demented minds that perform the most despicable and unthinkable actions. With 117 episodes under it's belt Sword and Scale has been consistently brilliant and will fast become one of your favourites.

Generation Why

The Generation Why Podcast released its first episode in 2012 and pioneered the true crime genre in the podcasting world. Two friends, Aaron & Justin, break down theories and give their opinions on unsolved murders, controversies, mysteries and conspiracies. Some episodes can be hard hitting, such as 911 call recordings that will keep you awake at night, but those are the things that put this podcast head and shoulders above others. With over 200 episodes to choose from this one is a no brainer and should be a go to option for any true crime fan.

Last Podcast On The Left

The Last Podcast On The Left is not just for true crime fans because it covers all the horrors our world has to offer both imagined and real, from demons and slashers to cults and serial killers. It's a podcast fans gateway into the true crime genre and has the biggest fan base from our list. Hosted by Ben, Marcus and Henry its as funny as it is creepy and the guys will always leave you wanting more. The podcast has over 300 episodes and is going strong, it's a big hitter in the podcasting world and got that way by being consistently excellent.


No true crime podcast list would be complete without Casefile, the podcast is hosted by the anonymous Australian story telling genius. Each case is covered with meticulous detail that is presented in a narrative that will pull you in a keep you guessing till the end. You will find yourself going on rollacoaster of a ride and with over 100 episodes to choose from, you won't want to stop listening.
